How it works

Spell a word from any tiles; they need not touch. Three letters or more.
Letters score 1 to 5, and 4 points make 1 ♥. A word of 7 or more letters leaves a ★ tile, which multiplies a word by 2.
Each fight starts at 10 ♥ with one of each potion. Scramble costs your turn.
On a keyboard, type letters to pick tiles, Backspace to take one back, Enter to attack.

The whole chapter: five fights on the way to SCP-682, each starting at full hearts. Every move rests on a line of the foe's own article. Today's chapter uses the same grids for everyone and changes each day. Hearts, points, potions and the art are placeholders to tune after you play.

Letters and words

Letter values come from how often each letter appears across the 984 articles of SCP Series I: 1 aeinorst · 2 cdhlmpu · 3 bfgwy · 4 kv · 5 jqxz. There is no Q tile. Against SCP-066 the letters A to G turn up more often, since they are its notes. The word list holds 13,887 words: common English words in the 1934 dictionary the Inferno pilot used, plus 2,320 that Series I uses and that dictionary lacks, their plurals, and no profanity.
